I Heart NYC

"Like all great travelers, I have seen more than I remember, and remember more than I have seen."                                                         ~Benjamin Disraeli

A musician with a homemade instrument performing Christmas tunes at NYC subway. His instrument was crudely crafted from a can, a curtain rod and four strings but sounded like a weird mix of bass, cello and violin. Awesome!

Flowers and plants for sale at the Union Square Farmers' Market. Can you believe that two dozen roses only cost $10.00 in NYC?

Lower Eastside's Artists' Sidewalk Gallery. Doesn't this look like Paris? There are some great as well mediocre artists using different  mediums selling their labors of love here.

Country in the city. A stall owned by a vendor selling dried flower arrangements and chili wreaths.

Remember this? This vendor is selling plaster replicas of  the famous "skyscrapers'-construction-workers-taking-a-mile-high-break" scenario.

More to come. Stay tuned. Same station. Same Bat Channel.

Cool.  From the sounds of this, you would really like Pikes Place Market in Seattle.  Have you even been there?

I love New York and I miss it! You name it you want it it's there! Whatever am I doing in Florida????  I remember seeing the original photo of the construction guys, scary because the angle it was shot you can see how high up they are the camera man shot down at them....so you see how small the buildings seem.  They had no harnesses, no protection - it was unbelievable.  You took great picture by the way and yes, $10.00 for two dozen roses - great city....Sandi

I lived in Upstate NY for a while after graduation, I decided to take a trip to the city on my own. I planned on going to staten island and ended up lost in the bronx, but I had a wonderful time at the zoo!

Wow!  These are awesome photos of the City!  I wish I could come back to NYC for a visit.  Our visit, so many years ago, was too short.  We didn't get to see everything we wanted to see, and I'm sure I'll have to come back several times before we do this.  Thanks so much for sharing your photos and making my memories of my previous visit come back to life.

Hey Friend, I was just dropping by to say hello and give you a shout out. I WISH flowers could be bought in my town like that. Dozen flowers in Idaho will cost you an arm and a leg!

I hope all is well,
Rebecca
