I got a feeling I am not in Florida anymore!

Summer afternoon - Summer afternoon... the two most beautiful words in the English language.

Henry James, British (US -born) author (1843 - 1916)

As I am making the rounds in J Land, I found that melancholy is prevalent among J Landers these days. I myself was melancholic for a couple of days.  Is it the post holidays funk? Is it Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)? Is it situational depression? Oh,  the causes of that pesky feeling of not wanting to get up in the morning and not wanting to see anyone are endless! Sometimes finding the cause of my depression makes me even  more depressed.

There are days that I feel like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz. Disoriented and confused about my surroundings because I am suppose to be in Florida yet it is cold and dreary outside. I chose to live in this state because it is suppose to be the Sunshine State. Some days I feel like I have been duped.

Today is an exception. I woke up at 6:30 AM to bring my son to school and by 7:00 AM the sun is trying to come out behind some clouds already! I had this urge to do the happy dance but my children had asked me politely not to do it again because it scare the bejesus out of them. I think I am going to go to beach today and take some pictures. Happy days are here again!

Hope those of you who are not feeling great for whatever reason, find something to be happy about. Have a great week!

I dont kow But I have been blah for a long time. this is not usual for KY but we are only getting no more than 4-5 days of sun. Its been like that for months. They said in the last 26 days we have not had more than two days of sun this last month.I can tell a big difference in everyone here in the state. Lori

I know I've been feeling a bit melancholy, I know it usually hits around this time, the space between the holidays and Spring. Plus, I have a major change I'm attempting to correct in my life that involves others, so that is never easy. We have 4 distinct seasons where I live, I can't imagine how glorious it must be to have sunshine and warmth most of the year through. And you can skip to the beach in an afternoon? How wonderful that would be too! I hope you had a great time, and I know for me, as time catches me up to Spring and if I am successful in my change of life, happy will not be an issue :o)

I just love going to the beach just because....the sound of the ocean is so intoxicating and relaxing...there is nothing like it in the world...we usually go to cocoa beach or titusville at Jedi Park.
Definitely share your pics....would love to see them

I noticed the air of melancholy, too.  Curiously, it also happened in J land last year around the holiday season. The tsunami and all its devastation didn't help.  In my neck of the woods, we are still dealing with the damage and fatalities from the torrential rains.

I am so ready for the sun to shine and for the fog to lift, literally and figuratively.  Glad to see you're enjoying yours, never mind what the kids think of the happy dance!  =P

Thanks for visiting my J and leaving comments.

I think right after the holidays it's a little sad, all the baking and get togethers are fewer and far between and it's back to your ever day life again...I can't believe I still have up my tree! I said I was going to take it down last weekend and never did and now i'm starting to panic that i'll end up one of those people who still have their tree up in august!!

Take some pictures of the beach and post them for those of us who can't be there with you.  :)   Looking for a little something to lighten the mood around here.
