Oh-Me-Oh-My!

Whoa! Check this out!

"Annoying someone via the Internet is now a federal crime.

It's no joke. Last Thursday, President Bush signed into law a prohibition on posting annoying Web messages or sending annoying e-mail messages without disclosing your true identity.

In other words, it's OK to flame someone on a mailing list or in a blog as long as you do it under your real name. Thank Congress for small favors, I guess."

I clicked the link and I read.  I am a bit torn about this new restriction.  While I think intent to annoy is going to be very difficult to determine and enforce, I am not in favor of being able to send profane ecards anonymously --- ever.  I think there is no question but that would annoy and be frightening for many folks to receive.  I am not very sure that any anonymous email is a good thing.  As is pointed out, if one wants to send a message anonymously, it can be done via snailmail.
loving you

Hmmm, not that I've had any issues as of late, but this does work for me if that 'person' should decide to begin commenting on my blog again.

Amazingly I'm betting there are stupid people who will in fact use their own names, implicating themselves and making it easier to press charges.  Gotta love the way the world works.

Nice! Im so glad Bush has time to sign stupid laws, maybe he should try cleaning up the mess he has made in Iraq first.  Augh the man annoys me.
