God Bless the USA!

Back from Italy

My Italian sojourn was amazing and memorable but I am very glad to be back in the United States of America for many reasons.

The picture above was taken in Vicenza. It was the first place  that I visited in Italy. It is where Camp Ederle is located. Camp Ederle is a US Army Airborne base in Italy.

I arrived at Marco Polo airport in Venice after 18 hours of travel. I was so exhausted that I fell asleep for four hours enroute Italy. I am usually not capable of sleeping while traveling but I guess I am getting old and I need my naps. LOL.

I spent 11 glorious and excitement filled days in Italy. I do not know how the tour industry can advertise those "European tours for 7 days" deal. Venice alone will take about a week to explore!

Traveling to a foreign country is a surefire way of making one appreciative of their own country. I am thankful for the opportunities I have been given to visit foreign lands but I am always ecstatic to be back in the USA. Travels abroad taught me the true meaning of the phrase, "There's no place like home."

Nice to hear you arrived home safe and sound.  Italy is gorgeous and you're right, it's hard to get all you want to see in a weeks time.
