I’m sitting here
Waiting for you
Negative thoughts swirling
Hoping you are alive
Somewhere warm
Safe and loved
I do not know
What I did
To make you run
From reality
And what I can do
To keep you grounded
Meanwhile
I am just sitting here
Thinking of ways
We can get closer
Stop the charade
End this disaster
I do not know
How to reach you
Literally and emotionally
I am ready to expunge
Just waiting
For your response
Sometimes I feel
I can wait
Until you are ready
To settle down
And be happy
But waiting is exhausting
I wait in misery and hope
The next time you come around
You are whole and new
Without the need
To chase pieces of you
In all the wrong places
***Note: This is a poem I wrote a while ago when I was having a problem with a loved one. To date, I am happy so do not worry about me. Poetry writing is therapeutic for me so I write poems about things bothering me at the time. It gives me clarity and affords me the luxury of restrospection. Just wanted to post the poem here to share.***

Wonderful poem! I hope the person you are waiting for comes around soon.
Nicely executed ..especially with the use of Salvador Dalis painting!
glad to hear you are at peace......and that anytime you get caught in the web of despair, you can find your way out with "words"
Peace~Marc :)
You are so right or at least that quote is right on! I find myself much more poetic when I feel passionate about something...Sandi http://journals.aol.com/sdoscher458/PoeticJourneyOfTheSoul
A little off topic...but seeing that Dali painting reminded me of my favorite spoof: http://www.allposters.com/-sp/The-Simpsons-Dali-Clock-Style_i816757_c1016_.htm

Very nice...JAE
Glad you are happy. Writing, art, traveling, it all helps us come out of the woods. I think this years summer has turned some frowns upside down. ~(:^} http://journals.aol.com/acyrlicstains/publish/

I agree poetry is an excellent outlet to expel negative emotions when you are having problems. I really enjoy reading your poetry--you have a way with words that instantly draws people in and wraps them in the emotions expressed. Glad things are currently going well :)

Emotion....poetry such as this emits an ocean of it.

wow this poem is very telling and could be true for me at times.
Captures an emotion that I think we've all felt.
Well done. Your selection of Salvadore's painting is a perfect companion for your words.
